there is a book called "ain't nobody's businees if you do" i just gave it to a friend.. i will see if i can locate a copy for you.. your insight in reference to this book.. it mentions some specifics, especially how the swaggarts robertsons and bakers defile the very essence of their self-proclaimed righteousness and actually hurts their religion {as aa whole~ in the eyes of both the knowing~ and those that never get the chance to know) because it makes the "faith" look poor.
I pity them they have done a disservice to themselves and the entire religious community.
i laud you for being able to be open about your beliefs and ideals.. it is truly a rare man who stands unequivocably behind his words/deeds.

shalom.. please call me taxi.. with a small t.. otherwise i feel i am talking with a stranger..
like when your mother is mad she screams out your full name.. too formal..

back to my first post and then your's..
the template answer was the same as the seven sacraments..
good enough..
basically what you are saying is choose god..{i don't know what the alternative would be}
but as long as you don't consider a man's formal religion as his handicap.. or however informal he may be regarding his religion..
some people take it to extremes.. creating a so called collage of poor slogans and ad campaigns. This depresses me..
I don't like to see all of this crap{bumper stickers, pennants flags, goofy hats etc..} if these people that make their living selling these goods think that they are righteous.. they are clearly wrong.
I don't know where you live shalom... but where i come from the closest physically we come to being with god is when we are fishing.. and even then pulling up an old tire or some pollution from the sea does not put me at one with my universe..
I have been more relaxed and at ease personally by going for a walk through the rainforest in puerto rico.. they have a waterfall where all of the locals and some brave tourists go.. it has so many visitors, yet is more pristine than anything i have ever seen.
Standing under the water purifies and cleanses.. and i am about as close to nature as i can be..
Here in Ny we consider ourselves closer to god when we catch a taxi in 2 minuteswhen it is raining.
Really to go back on topic..
i believe man has the ability to find that nirvana in his own mind.. i found it describing that waterfall to you..
I will have to visit there again vbery soon.
It is the perception of one's destiny and fear of death that push people into corners and dead end/unhappy careers. One has to be ahead of the other guy, when the net result is that we end up in a box in the cold earth..
many people feel that the soul is a thing thatcontinues after we die.. i don't know if my "life force" is my soul or whatever. i know that he who made kittens allows death, war destruction and AIDS..
The olden days people used to push these plagues and atrocities into fear against the disbelievers.. if you don't believe then this will happen and that will happen..
accept this or....
i have a lot to say.. i am sorry if this was such a long winded post.. i kind of lost myself there..
i will not erase it, even though i may be perceived as insane.
