The problem with socialistic solutions is that they are inherently unsustainable. No more so than corporations.. Companies screw up and go bust.. Governments play on so many venal fools and get re-elected.. THATS's the problem.. You guys re-elect the same old bullshit election in election out... The Dems handed Trump victory.. and NO whining about EC votes. That is in place to protect small states.. suck it up... Single Payer is much the same thing. It sounds good, because it DEAD WRONG!.. The idea is PERFECT.. implementation is chit.. I was recently at my 45th high school reunion.. One of my best buddies (doc) now runs a super clinic in Montreal.. They even offer many things that an emerge does.. Members pay a MODEST fee to join. They offer services at and ABOVE provincial standards at lower cost.. so government loves them.. My buddy recounted how he got so pissed off with the hospital system.. He needed a room cleared for a patient stat.. He called housekeeping.. Guy comes down .. looks it over (Union dude) and says oh this is a light house keeping job.. I cannot touch it.. so My pissed off off doc friend gets on the horn and pages sarcastically in English and French (Quebec you know)... I need a Lighthouse Keeper LOL... of course the pun was unintelligible in French but rules are rules.. So upshot is he is making many many folks happy... No big insurance bu;;shit like you yanks go on about... It can work VERY fine.. just need the right marriage of profit motivation with single payer.. and NEVER LET THE GOVERNMENT RUN ANYTHING !!! We have moved to a system where we are placing the rights of the minority above the good of the majority... That is because your system (country) is bought and paid for.. Stop being dogmatic and think.. Corporations are people in the US for God's sake.. Get a grip... Why do so many simple bills in your country need to look like omnibus bills to get passed.. Really.. you guys need to evaluate your system.. It is designed for last man standing by a bunch of white land and slave owners.. to preserve rule by MINORITY.. or let nothing get done.. We the people was a VERY SMALL EXCLUSIVE club.. still is.. THAT is your problem.. this socialism talk is bullshit.. plain ans simple.. The US only unites when the prez wants to bomb somebody.. to preserve bare arms.. (NOT a misspelling.. a joke)
