Set up a sole proprietorship or corporation, run it at a loss to pull your income below the cr 65K limit and you can get a Bronze plan for free next year, based on my playing for half an hour this morning on healthcare.gov. Its now literally the case that Bronze plans are completely free for incomes up to the 65K limit, and then full price when your income is $1 more. Its an absolute cliff now, no tiered levels anymore.

Caveat is I'm in rural areas, and it likely varies by State. This end game of the process was brought on by Trump stopping the CSR payments and the resulting game played to checkmate that by the insurance companies.

These programs are untenable. While for some, losing money to qualify one for a subsidy may seem like an approach, the idea that one has to give up one's economic livelihood to be able to afford health insurance is just absurd.

And why congress is not willing to sit down and settlemthismis beyond me.

Small businesses pay $18,142 in health care costs for a family per year according to KFF. If we had smart CEOs they'd have worked with Democrats to give us a single-payer plan that takes profits out of the system.

IMO, this should have been done decades ago. But it's hard for one party to do the right thing. Their talk radio and their conservative news think rising costs are sustainable. They're not.
