International business opportunity for NEC or L-H in South Africa . . . The November 13 1997 issue of Business Day of South Africa indicates that the South African government has put out a national fingerprint card ID program out to bid. NEC and Lockheed Martin are competing against each other and five other consortia for what will be a contract of about $100 million. Bids have been extended to March 1998. No mention of IDX, but I suppose they could be involved somehow with one or more bids. Just something to watch, along with everything else.
