I have always believed in trade schools. But only if done concurrent with a general liberal arts education.

We are not born knowing how to think. It is something we must learn. Too many people do not understand that. We are born knowing how to easily learn how to talk, but not how to read and write and do arithmetic and think logically, reason.

And even trades people need to learn how to think. Trump was elected because too many people could not understand how dangerous he was going to be, or figure out how he was going to hurt them personally.

The brain we are born with is not designed to navigate the modern technological and intellectual world we have created. It was designed by nature to survive as a nomadic animal.

So we must educate ourselves to form a new brain that is fit to successfully interface the singularity that is on our doorstep.

<<That said, I do think we need far more options for young people to get trade school educations.
