To think one can get a first class education strictly online is a ridiculous notion. A major portion of an education is learning to create relationships, working with others in teams, and making serendipitous discoveries via inspirational educators.

>> Major Univ ARE research facilities AND they often have online classes.

We need online, accredited degree programs in STEM fields that require little or no attendance at brick & mortar facilities. I've taken a number of online courses and they are consistently better, IMO, than most classroom counterparts.

Because you are able to get the best of the best of online.

You should try it before you bash it. It is the future. There is absolutely no need for 4000 universities.

There are a few courses that attendance is essential for but these can be accommodated.

As can research for graduate students.
