<Give away Webtv with every purchase of Windows OS.>

That may be possible, it is cheap enough to bundle in. The cellular industry does it through subsidies. All you have to do is agree to use MSFT Carpoint, Expedia, MSN Investor, etc. for one year and they could give away a version of the slimmed down WebTV in exchange for the transaction income. They can even offer the same deal to the cable industry.

<Now it's a bit early but I think this is leading to a NC which will be a real consumer product not like MS present innovative windows enviorement.>

MSFT currently does Java better than the other major players, so why do you characterize Java as the MSFT killer. They seem to be doing good with Java thus far.

Mike, offhand I'd say this is a big deal, I've been watching Bill's courtship of Big John closely. I'll wait a bit for independent confirmation, though, or at least something in the regular press. I didn't think $1billion would be enough to buy off TCI, maybe Bill will go higher to at least avoid being cut out of the game entirely. Like Casey Stengel said, it's not over till it's over, and there's not much in the field just yet.

Cheers, Dan.
