It's all part of the "Resistance", and frankly, I find it disloyal to this country Right after the election there was a lot of discussion about whether twas nobler and/or smarter for highly qualified Republicans to distance themselves from the Administration or to serve in order to be in a position to mitigate the potential damage. The same conflict applies to civil servants. It's a highly complicated and consequential moral question. All federal officials, whether political or career, swear allegiance to the Constitution. The current scenario is unique in my lifetime. In my lifetime federal officials have never before experienced a generalized conflict between loyalty to the President and loyalty to the Constitution. Federal officials have had to choose only in a few discrete situations. Nowadays, every day presents challenges. It's all part of the "Resistance", and frankly, I find it disloyal to this country. To the extent that the Resistance is partisan, then it's disloyal to the country. To the extent that it is in service to the Constitution, it is noble and its practitioners are patriots and heroes.Subverting that President through illegal leaks and disloyalty is not only unethical, but it does not serve the American people. It's natural for Trump supporters to perceive anything that frustrates Trump as disloyal to the country. It's hard for loyalists to differentiate between disloyal to one's champion and disloyal to the country. The inherent bias is to conflate serving the President with serving the American people. I agree that knee-jerk partisan resistance is disloyal to both Trump and the country but I am beyond appreciation for those who are defending our country from him as needed.
