Ken,

Nothing said about CPQ by Abbey? Why is she so bullish on PSFT? I have a friend who wants to buy it.

Anyone have idea if CPQ will talk about next quarter earnings? Are they beating whisper number?

Regards,
Ken

Didn't get to see her, Ken, but I do think she certainly a well-qualified commentator and observer of the market. Do you know whether her appearance was pre-recorded or if last night's show was live (after the big slump)? Agree that the news media loves to create melodrama. I don't know whether you get the same in Hawaii but here, in the northeast, every bit of ordinary weather becomes a dangerous storm. An inch of snow becomes a blizzard; a windy day portends a deadly gale, etc. They love to build up anxiety, doom and gloom. By the way, were you able to get on SI last night. Tried multiple times but think server was down.

Kenneth R Miller. Re:Abbey Cowen on Wall St. Week. She did mention Peoplesoft but did not mention IBM. She mentioned Micron Techology. Another guest mentioned IBM earlier on the show.

On a subsequent hour with Rukeyser (here in LA), a Morgan Stanley manager mentioned being selective in technology, mentioning CPQ and Cisco specifically.
