Fascinating. Thanks for the info.
I dont get this at all. Sildenifil has been sold in generic form for years. With Kaiser and other pharmacies the pill runs a buck per 20mg and is usually scripted: take 1-5 tabs.

30 tabs of sildenafil 20mg for $21.40 via GoodRx at Costco or 71¢ per tablet.
Take 5 for 100mg at $3.56

Viagra (sildenafil citrate.... I'm not sure if it is exactly the same...) is $640 for 10 tablets or $64 per tablet!

$64 vs $3.56 or about 18:1

at least according to this goodrx.com

I was unaware this was already available in the US.
Medicare is the best insurance I've ever had in my life.
It seems the hospitals push the costs for medicare out to those of us with high deductible plans and the insurance companies wink and nod... The Feds may pay the incremental costs so it makes sense for hospital groups to compete for Medicare knowing they can make up the fixed costs on the backs of those who buy high deductible insurance.
