Howie,

Forget about the latest weekly hysteria. For CPQ I believe the most important issue for 1998 is BTO and Channel Assembly. If they can match DELL on price, then service will bring in customers big time. From what I read, it appears that the programs are going well.

>>Look for, very soon, a tremendous rally in High Tech, especially the big guys CPQ, MSFT, DELL, INTC, AMAT, CSCO! Only one man's opinion.

Maybe. But remember Q1 is usually technology's weakest quarter (remember last year?) I'm preprared for nothing much to happen until May...

CNNfn by far is more responsible then CNBC.
Sometimes I can't believe the copy they write
and statements such has to predict the days market
events. I find that most of their guests have a
large stake in what they tout and don't even
get me started on the bow tie'd shrimp, 360 days
he is wrong and 5 days he shouts I told you so.
CNNfn reports the facts.
All IMHO only.

Hi. Saw the parade of ecstatic bears on CNBC. Reminds me of the October crash when CNBC interviewed Mike Metz from Opco. Had seen him on numerous other occasions when the market was reaching new highs. Never saw him smile until October when became animated and dynamic, literally bursting with bonhomie and cheer. I guess it's esad for a bear in a bull market -- so much money being made, so many stocks reaching new highs, so many pockets being lined. I think it's only fair to let them out a couple of days every 7 years or so. I just bought more cpq on wed. and believe as you do that intc will give us the boost we need now.

Howie, Thanks for your opinion... I agree completely with your summation. The worst thing for a long term investor is Panic Selling. Not to let Wall Street oscillations scare you out of great investments like any of the ones you mentioned <CPQ, MSFT, DELL, INTC, AMAT, CSCO> plus a whole lot more. IBM and I even include AAPL. Abbey Cowen even put CMB and CCI on her list of good ones for '98.
Best regards for '98
