I would love to know why this NEC win should not be very exciting.

Well at least this investor is waiting for SOMEONE to "Show me the money!" Hell, we have INS, NEC afis contracts, Sylvan JV, etc and where has that gotten us (i.e. stock price)?

Don't get me wrong, I'm still a believer and think it's only a matter of time before all of these play out to the bottom line, BUT in the meantime nothing "excites" me about IDX. Low-key smirking maybe, but not EXCITEMENT. ;~)

Brad, a few points:

(1) Did I understand you to write a few posts back that you were with Rob? You're writing covered calls? I can't figure out if that's bullish or bearish, but it is astonishing -- if I understood you correctly. And isn't it a loser strategy with the INS announcement pending?

(2) The South African situation was described in a December publication, and the other partners of NEC and L-H were named (foreign entities we haven't heard of). I don't think these two companies would be free to partner up in this particular situation because of their relationship to ongoing partners and because of prior bidding with South Africa. On the other hand, it may be that IDX has two horses in the running for that deal.

(3) Chicagoland, our kind of county, Chicagoland. Sounds good. But the lack of excitement may be due to a few things: no official announcement yet; lack of stock price reaction to recent actual announcements; no earnings yet, obviously; and while pretty big, it would be smaller than INS, Sylvan possibilities, etc. It may also be a sign that the thread is maturing a little in its expectations of the stock price and of IDX' growing business.

I'd love to see a 30 page Salomon report like the one being described.
