ATHM vs NLV:-
THe cable companies signed a mega deal to buy 10-15 million cable boxes from NLV (NextLevel AKA General Signal). THese boxes will be able to do most or more than what the @Home boxes can do. Isn't this a significant threat to @Home? I have a cable modem via Roadrunner, Time Warner's Service, and love it. I really couldn't care less whether i had a separate cable modem (which I now have and love) or whether it was a line run from my cable box, as long as I got the dependability and speed that i now have. I am not currently an investor in ATHM, but am considering it. I believe Cable Modem offer the best bang for the buck of any internet connection. But have this nagging question that the dream of ATHM's hooking up all of the cable companies homes is seriously threatened by the technology implicit in the NLV system. Larry
