Let's hope Kinnard is very wrong. An "increased" earnings estimate of $-0.21 and $-0.12 is pathetic, especially in the year of the alleged fibre channel boom.

To All,

I can shed a little more light on the revised revenue/earnings estimates from Zack's. I believe they originally came from a Kinnard report dated 1/6/98. First Call has the report, albeit a little late, but it costs a few bucks. firstcall.com (I had to sign up for one of their services, but I don't remember which one. It was a long time ago.)

Revenue:
Q4-1997 - $1.0 Million - (down from 2.2)
Q1-1998 - $3.2 Million - (up from 2.7)
Q2-1998 - $3.5 Million - (up from 3.3)
Q3-1998 - Not given.
Q4-1998 - Not given.

The Kinnard report says that the slippage of the military contract caused them to reduce Q4 numbers. (They expected it to ship in Q4.)

Earnings:
Q4-1997 - (.23) - (down from (.19))
Q1-1998 - (.12) - (up from (.14))
Q2-1998 - (.10) - (up from (.11))
Q3-1998 - (.04) - (change not specified)
Q4-1998 - .03 - (change not specified) Not a typo. Just a year late. <g>

The Kinnard report also gives a hint as to the size of the Litton deal.ÿ They say that the initial order could be worth about $600,000-$800,000 with shipment occurring in 1Q98 or 2Q98.ÿ Another key quote is "Ancor beat competing technologies and other Fibre Channel switch companies for this design project." There is no indication what other switch companies were competing.

The Kinnard report also indicates that the likelihood of Ancor getting an OEM contract is greater than ever.

Kinnard set a price target of $10.ÿ If Ancor receives an OEM contract for the MKII, they say that the stock could be well over $15. (No time frame was given for either projection.)

A little additional information that is not in the Kinnard report. Ancor has confirmed to me that this (the Litton deal) is the "same project" as the Joint Armed Forces project talked about in previous conference calls. (Originally supposed to ship in Q3 or Q4 of 1997, according to my information.)

P.S.

Has anyone else been having trouble getting through to SI for the last couple of days? I've been getting a lot of network errors, and sometimes it just doesn't respond. I noticed that SI had been "attacked", so maybe this has something to do with it.
