I was doing both. I was part of the counter culture movement when we had only one table in the café at San Jose State and Owsley was still making acid. I seriously doubt you were a part of it before I was.

I was at a zillion anti war protests, but also civil right marches and protesting our playing football with Brigham Young university because of their racist policies.

There was plenty of time to do both. It was a time of high intellectual activity where we were also protesting against conspicuous consumption, etc.

It looks like you took a shallow approach to the 60's. Many did and many did not. But your defense of ignorance is wrong. The Republicans are doing everything in their power to dumb down America and destroy the public school system and you seem to defend their efforts.

It is much easier to manipulate an ignorant populace, plus the best way to fight poverty is to get the people educated.

"What is bullshit is your not even understanding what the 60's was about."

I was too busy being part of it, almost from the beginning, to take time to think about it. While you were reading books, I was going to antiwar rallies as part of a first aid group, and picketing with Teamsters in LA .

You still support FSM? Or, like most liberals, is it no longer as important as redistribution?
