yep agreed. Also, the GOP certainly looks to be weakening with each cycle. I think they are clinging to some old positions, which are no longer popular or reasonable, while not embracing new trends which would make the party more inclusive. For example, their kowtowing to the Evangelicals is really stupid in the long run. First of all, religion has no business being in our politics. The policy should be simple...live and let live. Keep the government out of religion, period. As for climate change, they are in denial. My policy is to always go with the scientific consensus until that consensus has changed. They aren't always right, but so many disciplines within science have weighed in on this topic that I think it's time to acknowledge we need to take care of this planet for the long run. Thirdly, the GOP needs to stop being so anti-everything when it comes to things like gay marriage. Again, that is a religious position that our government has no business getting involved in. If I'm a Catholic, I don't believe in gay marriage, but I and my government don't have the right to stop two gay adults getting married and having the same civil rights as a hetero couple. So my religious beliefs should not be taken into account in some other couple's life decisions. The last point I'll make is that I hate that the GOP has forgotten their roots of conservatism when it comes to the economy and the budget. They spend like drunken sailors on war and cut taxes like drunken sailors in the blind faith in trickle down. I wish they'd get back to focusing on cutting back on big government, balancing the budget, and getting out of the way of businesses, except to keep fraud and crime to a minimum, as well as create fair rules that level the playing field.

So in short, I think the GOP is a dying animal too. Trump's not really a Republican. He just ran within the GOP to get elected. He's a different animal, who is a wrecking ball to today's establishment, but may serve as a good catalyst to something better when it emerges from the wreckage he will leave behind. Don't get me wrong, I voted for him to be the wrecking ball. Our government needed a good cleansing and Trumps the man to do it, because he doesn't give a shit what people say or think. I hope the GOP dies and something different and better takes its place, like a moderate, socially enlightened party, that believes in science, with conservative fiscal and monetary values, and a crop of newer, younger politicians that will represent Gen X, the Millenials, and the Gen Z, instead of forever catering to the Baby Boomers who have singlehandedly destroyed our country, while enriching themselves at the expense of all future generations.
