My biggest memory of Sears Holdings is how Cramer used to brag about it years ago. I believe he was friends with the CEO and thought he'd turn it around. I wonder if he still holds it....
Sad story... There used to be a nice Sears near me on the corner where I'd drive to the corner of El Camino and San Antonio Rd and look at Mt. Hamilton covered with snow over the single story Sears building. Often there would be carnivals, pumpkin patches and Christmas Tree farms in the parking lot. Now that is all gone and we have a massive development with no view of the mountains. I boycotted the restaurants there for years FOR STEALING MY VIEW but I finally started going when they have specials.... and even bought my overpriced air bed there last year.... but the prices are more for the people who can afford the $6,000 a month for the 2b/2b apartments... usually MDs working at Stanford Hospital on projects or execs working at Google before they decide to buy a $3M home.
