Yes, why do we even have full auto guns at all? What a crock.

The shooting took place on January 8, 2011, at 10:10 a.m. MST (17:10 UTC). [14] [15] A United States Representative from Arizona, Gabrielle Giffords, was holding a constituent meeting called "Congress on Your Corner" [9] [16] at the Safeway supermarket in La Toscana Village mall, which is in Casas Adobes, an unincorporated area north of Tucson, Arizona. [17] Giffords had set up a table outside the store and about 20 to 30 people were gathered around her when 22-year-old Jared Lee Loughner suddenly drew a pistol and shot Giffords in the head. [18] [19] The shooting was caught on video by a store security camera, but has not yet been released to the public. [15] [20]

Loughner proceeded to fire apparently randomly at other members of the crowd. [1] [21] He reportedly used a 9×19mm Glock 19 semi-automatic pistol with a 33-round magazine. [22] [23] A nearby store employee said he heard "15 to 20 gunshots". [24] Loughner stopped to reload, but dropped the loaded magazine from his pocket to the sidewalk, from where bystander Patricia Maisch grabbed it. [25] Another bystander clubbed the back of the assailant's head with a folding chair, injuring his elbow in the process, representing the fourteenth injury. [26] Loughner was tackled to the ground by Bill Badger, a 74-year-old retired United States Army Colonel [27] who had also been shot himself. Loughner was further subdued by Maisch and bystanders Roger Sulzgeber and Joseph Zamudio. Zamudio, a concealed weapon (CCW) permit holder, had a weapon on his person, but arrived after the shooting had stopped and did not draw his firearm. [28] Thirty-one shell casings were found at the scene by investigators. [29]

There you go again. Trying to prove that facts are wrong by inventing other "facts" doesn't really work. If you don't like the actual facts, take it up with the FBI. With the Trump appointees, they might be able to generate a new report with "alternative facts" that meet your approval.

Like with terrorism, there isn't a magic bullet solution where one thing will eliminate the threat. But there are a lot of little things that can be done to reduce the risk. And the onus of the requirements should be on those who want to play with dangerous toys and not the majority of the population who just want to get through their day without having nutballs gun them down in droves.
