When you make this assertion that it was Bill Clinton and that Bush - FOR EIGHT YEARS - was an unwilling participant is when you lose all credibility. You look like a complete fool - or a Russian Troll. Clinton rewrote the Community Reinvestment Act, which loosened housing rules, signed the Commodity Futures Modernization Act (which exempted credit-default swaps from regulation) and repealed Glass-Steagall. Pretty hard to disagree that these were the underpinnings of the collapse.

Actually I think one can hang the entire 20 trillion on the Republicans.

The projection was to be out of debt in 12 years following Clinton's budget.

Bush and the Republicans used that as an excuse to make huge tax cuts for the rich and then start two wars.

Then Bush crashed the world, and out economy, with fraudulent CDO's, CDS's, no paper loans and an SEC chief who did nothing and Obama had to engage huge deficit spending to keep us out of a depression and now Trump's obscene budget cuts.
