Quite frankly, until Trump, I had not realized just how base republicans were. I really did think they had some values. Sure, I disagreed with them over a woman's right to control her own body and her fertility, and I couldn't approve of taxpayer funded religious institutions, and I definitely didn't see foreign policy the same way- but I kind of believed them that they cared about family values and morality. Now? Nope nope nope. I'm just disgusted at this point. I know I would not have agreed with Romney on many things, but he would not have disgusted me. And I would never have worried about his sanity.
