Killers like this Cruz kid are giving law-abiding gun owners a bad name. It's time to crack down on them. There are practical measures that might have prevented this shooting: 1. Raise the age to legally buy a rifle to 21. 2. Ban the possession of a firearm by any student who is expelled from public school. 3. Ban the possession of a firearm by any person who makes assassination threats. 4. Ban the possession of firearms in homes where there is a pattern of domestic disturbance.
