People realize it. I've heard some offering $500K over the official sale price towards a $3M+ home but to be transferred between buyer and seller banks in China so that part of the sale price doesn't show up on the final sales price. That will save over $5,000 a year on property taxes for the buyer and well over 30% on capital gains taxes for the seller... when you add the ACA tax to the Fed cap gain tax plus CA's 13.3% tax on the gain.

Nothing like the rich in a communist country knowing how to game the system and cheat the government out of their taxes.
