Satyr...I won't argue with you...as a matter of fact, I agree. I'm only warning you and the thread to put no value in Mark McCoy's posts. If he is correct, and he may be, It's a fluke! S.

Satyr and others,

I'm pretty sure CPQ missbehaved because of the the news on the two execs leaving and because of their comments on channel stuffing. However, CPQ DID recover near the end. I think holding for the next week and a half will reward you properly.

Satyr - Nice post. I'm mostly a short term trader also, and got sucked in by CPQ to some extent, although I've been buying on the way down. Last year, (till Oct earnings time, that is) this stock was a leader and acted well whether the market in general was up or flat, since then, it has really sucked. I remember Steve predicting 100, then 80 by January, he is now saying maybe 80 by April. Today's action was particularly disheartening in comparison to how Dell traded. It's obvious that although the big boys may be done selling at EOY, they sure are not buying. Maybe they want to see the upcoming numbers in order to make a better judgement as to the effect of the sub 1k on CPQ's margins. We will know soon....

John

RE: mabey Intels earnings will be just what the we need to
start turning this around

Yes, but remember Compaq continually strays from Intel, they have done so in the past and continue to do so, not smart, see Dell, he's all Intel inside.
