Bobby: Bert Dohmen projecting that gold will hit $200 this year. Super bullish on bonds.

My comment. Could happen if governments allow the extant deflationary virus to get completely out of control. But very unlikely. Agressive reflationary actions much more probable.

BTW one of the reasons the soaring dollar could lead to a global depression is that huge volumes, of dollar denominated are becoming unpayable.

Hi Bobby,

The problem here is not whether the yen strenghtens or not.It becomes
a question of whether or not there going to pay their debt. Remember the
money they lent out is the depositors money. If they don't repay the monies
out and if Joe Smoo want it back and their is a run on the bank the bank
doesn't have the funds to give back. The Glass Stegal Act of 32 I beleive
was to prevent banks from investing depositors money in the market. In
Japan they still do it. The Clinton administration has been trying to change
it so banks can do it again. The Republicans have been fighting it. There
are reasons for this. It was to prevent the banks from using depositors
money on speculating. Sound investment only and that would be realestae
and what not.

What was the major problems with the 29 crash was that banks where usning
depositors money to invest in the market. When the market crashed so did
the money. When the depositor came back to withdraw his money and pay
his margin accounts the bank didn't have it. So it became a domino effect.
Banks had no money, Harry homeowner didn't have any money and so on and
so forth. The same thing is happening now. That is why it is better to
put your money in a check marketing account then a savings account.;-)

Hope this answers your question?

Ron
