Pierre, In answer to your post: You State: "These awards are wonderful" Yes, they most certainly are, and again confirm the important technological presence and industry leadership that tiny Presstek brings to the Graphic Arts. You State: "but do not guarantee success in the market" I believe there is "no guarantee" in anything in life.....However, with all the many new intovations introduced to the industry in 1997, Seybold certainly believes that Presstek Technology has produced the most promising products.....Seybold states: "These honorees have already made a notable impact, or are likely to have a substantial effect, on the future of publishing." They further state: "As is always the case when the Seybold Editors begin selecting our annual awards, we are struck by how many good products, interesting technologies and notable events are worthy of consideration. It has truly been an exciting and innovative year in publishing, with many excellent products appearing in the market. After many grueling debates, we norrowed our nominees down to this list of products and companies." Pierre, you state: (These awards) "don't make a company worth $775 Million." You need to open your eyes and recognize where Presstek is headed....get your research people to do some real digging on the Presstek and FUJI patents. If you did, YOU WOULD NOT BE SHORT. Check into the progress of Alcoa, potential demand and interest for the Matchprint laser proof, what PEARLgold plates will mean to the industry and the expected demand for this processless plate, the interest in Omni-Adast DI, other companies interest in Presstek direct imaging on press, etc. etc. You state: "Fuji is not going to gear up fast enough to replace the lost Heidelberg business that PRST has been warning about." Pierre, Neither you or I know what FUJI and Presstek have arranged in financial matters or how quickly their new agreements may provide income to Presstek. Also, Presstek does not expect any future decrease from Heidelberg to be material. A recent Presstek press release clarified this: "The Company reiterated its previously announced statement that its business relationship with Heidelberg is sound, and includes not only continuing manufacturing efforts, but NEW PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS which will carry the alliance well into the next century. Presstek expects to ship its 1,000th Quickmaster DI imaging system in early 1998." You State: 1998 is likely to be a down year in revenues and EPS imo. Pierre, I believe 1998 will be a record setting year for income for this company. Many new projects and initatives announced last year will soon be ready for sales and distribution. You State: Once that momentum is broken, PRST will lose a whole class of speculator, the momentum crowd. Pierre, When FUJI announces details and projects are confirmed. If it involves patents we have researched, when new Heidelberg projects are announced, and existing projects are confirmed to be substantially benificial to the Presstek bottom line, and finally, when the new future earnings projected, show that this company will continue record growth, the stock will again trade forward in anticipation of these increases, just as it has in the past and at price levels very much higher than we see now. You State: "I thought that I had seen mention by Neil that Presstek gets a royalty on the 74-Karat. All the above mentions is that it will use PRST plates." Pierre, I have read in two seperate trade journals that a royalty is paid to Presstek for each 74-Karat press sold. Also, in one of the same articals, there was a mention of the licensing agreement with Heath Custom Press involved in the deal with Scitex/KBA. And yes, each press will add to the plate consumption of patented Presstek plates. Neil
