Bob, I will post an excerpt from the link I posted to Alan and see if anyone else agrees or disagrees with his prophesy. It is more important to discuss these issues than to disagree. Don't you agree? <G>

Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Rev 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Rev 6:14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Rev 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Rev 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

Rev 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

6) TERROR

I believe this verse refers to the Rapture, or catching away of the Bible believing Church. The Church today is filled with the real and the fake. Jesus made it clear in Matthew 13 and 25 that He would do His weeding and culling when He caught His Church away at the end of the Age. These verses parallel other passages in Matthew, Luke and Mark as well as Isaiah 34:4. In Revelation 7 you will see that the next events are the sealing of the 144,000 Jewish witnesses or believers and the appearance of the great multitude before the throne of God. The correct translation in the Greek is "those who have come out before the Great Tribulation" in Revelation 7:14.

I believe that Revelation 6 is speaking of progressive and simultaneous events leading up to the end of the chapter which is the catching away of the Bride or Church and its appearance subsequently in Heaven. The 144,000 witnesses as they are often referred to by prophecy students are later raptured along with the two witnesses of Jerusalem at midpoint in the Tribulation. See Revelation 11:12 and 14:1-5.

Based on Revelation 6 and 7 and Matthew 13,24,25 and 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:9 as well as other passages, I am pre-trib, pre-wrath and partial rapture minded. I know this will upset many who cling to one or the other or to none of the above. Am I saying 1998 will be the year of the Rapture? Very possibly, yes. However it is not up to me, but the Father. I won't second guess Him or set dates. However, if all of these events break loose or are fulfilled in 1998 then yes, there will be a Rapture. The Father is the only One who knows for sure. Honestly, a lot has to happen in order for the Rapture to occur as revealed in Revelation 6. But bear in mind that these major events could all go hand in hand. All it would take is for a major war, economic collapse and spread of bio/chemical/nuclear fallout as well as the spread of deadly diseases to wipe out the number of people Rev. 6 speaks about.

It is not a matter of if, but when. I cannot set dates. I see the season and the season is nigh. My main concerns are two-fold. 1) that as many as can be saved by the Gospel, will and 2) that the suffering of the innocents such as aborted babies, orphans, widows, war victims and martyrs come to an end. I would gladly give this world up to see my Jesus and know that hundreds of millions have been rescued out of this nightmare."

Bob, I am sure that the rapture is imminent and a blessed hope for Christians(Titus 2:13) I also do not believe that we will be present when the last 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation is in force. I will try to reply later this evening. (Of course I do not mind if you have a different time table than I have. What is important is that we can discuss these issues.)
God bless,
James

Bob, It is not clear to me either that the rapture is in Rev. 6. I think the probable time is based on 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God."

The man of sin will be revealed more than seven years before the Second Coming of Christ. According to 2 Thess 2:, this won't happen as long as God is restraining sin. The presence of the Holy Spirit indwelling the Church is God's method of restraining sin in the world. This can only be changed by removing the Church. Then the Anti-christ will be revealed.
Sound reasonable to you?
Regards,
James
