see if you are taking enough minerals.

Mineral depletion. Too little potassium, calcium or magnesium in your diet can contribute to leg cramps. Diuretics — medications often prescribed for high blood pressure — also can deplete these minerals.Aug 8, 2017

i had them a few times each night last winter, for about two months. i made sure i was drinking plenty of water and increased my magnesium vitamin. i also take prescription potassium as my system also checks out lower than normal.

Many years ago in Newsday the local Long Island newspaper there was a column called " The People's Pharmacy." They said to take a packet of mustard for leg cramps or an equivalent amount in a spoon. This would be when you had a cramp that wasn't going away in a relatively short amount of time. I can't tell you how many times it's helped me. Mentioned it to my mother and she found the same relief. It was good enough that I brought the article into my primary care physician. Give it a try.

Drink a bottle of tonic water before bed
to sleep thru the night without waking up from leg cramps

Good luck.
