Yes, businesses will need to begin finding IP sharing as repellent as Trump imagines it to be for Trump to be successful.

Otherwise it's going to be very tough for Trump to dictate terms to American businesses doing business in China.

Toilet bowls agree with Trump, but not many businesses do.

This is the Reverse Trojan Horsing ploy. :)

What can be exploited will be exploited, without fail.

In the end what is exploited is a weakness that negatively impacts someone who has nothing to do with all of this. But somewhere there will be toasts made about how it is all for his good.
