You need to understand that you and I look at it from two different perspectives. Yours is, "What do we do now that we're stuck with it." As is the article's. Mine is, "How did we allow this idiot to get us into an obviously horrible deal?" They're different.

I question whether there is way to walk away from it. You believe it is desirable to salvage it.

The fundamental difference is this: I recognize that it creates a destiny of a future war. You think it leads to some kind of tolerable peace.

The essential point one must understand is that Israel's position is untenable with a nuclear Iran, for two reasons:

1. Iran has explicitly stated, for years, they would destroy Israel. There is a level of hatred there which cannot be ameliorated, no matter how hard Israel tries; and

2. A nuclear tipped missile will incinerate Israel in 7 minutes. Not in 30 minutes or an hour. In 7 minutes. Israel's country is the most difficult to defend in the world because of its size and proximity to hostile neighbors; and

3. Israel has shown, over the years, it will not allow itself to be obliterated with such ease.
