Barry,

Re. Gross margin

Andy Grove had repeatedly said that the percentage number is not important; what is important is the absolute numbers.

Barry, re: Before we all get too carried away, gross margin % for 1998 expected to be
55%...

GM used to be at 63% some time around April last year. The market is looking toward future earnings. IMHO with flat expected revs, we'll be in a trading range as soon as things settle down over next couple of weeks. CC to tell quite a bit.

Barry, yes I saw that about gross margins expected to be lower in 1998, and we should stay sober. However, Intel always says they are more interested in gross profits than gross margins. Hopefully they make it up in expense control and gross revenues.

Barry,

Also disturbed by an almost 33% increase in employees in one year. Would like an answer from Intel about that, maybe it will come up in the conference call.
