As I passed I figured they must be the cross country team from either Gunn High or Stanford and that guy was not chasing them since he was in the middle of the pack so probably their coach. On another topic, Saudi Arabia plans major expenditures to become a tech hub in the middle east.finance.yahoo.com Any idea which companies they will impact. No doubt they have the money to do whatever they wish. They might even buy a few American companies as a starting point. While chatting to my buddy using my in dash hands free, Bluetooth cell, I commented you probably don't see that in Saudi Arabia and it must be quite a culture shock for anyone from a Muslim country that keeps its women covered head to toe when they come here. Sooo... to attempt an answer, probably not a liquor or beer company but anyone that makes material for clothing or bed sheets might benefit because if they attract more wealth but women keep covered, it should be good for companies that make cloth for clothing. Also obesity is a problem in SA since much of what they can do is go to McDonald's, which is quite popular. So, probably the drug companies too. Cell phones, Bluetooth accessories, autos and anything else we use here should also do well there when they bring in tech workers from other countries... I think they will have a harder time getting their entitled kids to work than we do in the US... so expect them to import workers and need to build housing too. I wouldn't invest in any individual company based in incremental business from SA as it would be a small piece of an expanding pie.... and I have emerging markets covered with EM funds that have already done very well for me after buying a big chunk (overweight that sector) when it was down recently. I just took profits at $50.25 after a long run.... and will buy back if we get a big enough decline.
