I agree on the time frame (around 10 years) but I'm not as sure as you are about cures for cancer.

I read a few studies over the weekend about microplastics and how we pick them up on our socks from carpets etc., wash the socks, which then go into wastewater treatment, then into rivers, then into fish which we eat or in the water we drink, then back into our system. They can find microplastics at every stage up to that point. The next two steps are seeing if nano plastics can entire the bloodstream and then into organs and then seeing what damage (if any) they may be causing. Our synthetic society makes cancer inevitable.

Even fertilizer has microplastics so they're checking to see if it gets into the water of the plant and then back into our system and then into our organs. A few hours wasted learning something very few people have ever heard about and may be nothing but it was raining so what else was there to do?
