You want me to think they voted against communists because we had SDI. No, you want people to think that I want you to think that. A rather different thing. I never suggested that people voted against communists because we had SDI. Instead people got a chance to vote against communists (or before that to vote for reformers and communists in name only, who were on the ballot because they were at least officially still communists), in (at least a small) part because of SDI.
