The people afraid of being shot in the Safeway parking lot are at much less risk of being murdered by other means. That is what I'm trying to get you to look at. If you live in the Projects in Chicago, yes you have risk, same for plenty of Latino barrios with gang violence. The murder rate might not change there a whole lot with guns removed, although it likely would too.

What are the odds of Sandy Hook without guns? That is the question. Its not a question of whether domestic violence goes down without guns. Some men beat up and kill their women. They will do so with or without guns. But a person walking down the street is not at much risk unless they are in high risk areas, and those people need to take other precautions. The people concerned about guns are the people who don't think they should wring their hands when sending the kids off to school in the morning.
