i knew i would remember it.. because one does not accept jesus into ones life, one is not a heathen.. at least according to webster..who may have been the disciple of words.. i do not know his faith.. from the book of words: Webster 1989.pg 145 heathen~n. pagan,idolator. I accepted jesus into my life as a child.. I also spent a lot of time analyzing these people that spent all morning sunday forcing their children to go to church and to dress "abnormally" meaning suit/tie/shoes.. these same people wearing their sunday best... are the same in my gods eyes in mondays blue jeans and baseball hats, garageman's jumpers, white doctor suits, farmer's overalls, etc. There is a slight contradiction in this act of primping oneself and gussying up the family and dragging them to church.. at a certain age children rebel and do not wish to go and it should be willful acceptance rather than brute strength{etc} that allows one into the house of god.. I also believe that the tithe system is regressive and forces people to occassionally feel bad if they don't have enough to give.. The contributions to the church should be willful also.. the guy making a million a year and the guy making ten bucks a week feel that % differently.. Organized religion IMO is oppressive by nature. i am not a pagan or idolator.. believeing that we came from the hot thin soup is one theory, the big bang is yet another.. and then of course the wholeparable of the man and the women w/ the extra rib thing.. bottom line.. i believe that there is a deity and that jesus was a good man.whether or not he died for my sins or not is really up to me to take responsibility in accepting or rejecting.. I personally do not forgive the bakers and oral roberts and pat robertsons that denounce people for being gay, being this or being that.. and then selling you videotapes of these "godless" people.. my wife has a relative who is "gay" and guess what... one of the NICEST people i ever met.. and i have met plenty of people... I believe that the god i believe in is one eternal justice and created us not for mirth or pleasure or to believe in any set way of being.. what shape he takes{or she} is unknown..it is more of a force than a being.. my god isn't short of cash and certainly doesn'y give self appointed religious rednecks the power to destroy lives by selling videotapes to raise money to make more videotapes... my god does not have a name or shape or form..he may be all or one of the same gods.. i don't pray to my fgod for material things.. and i believe that in troubled times man's character is the one thing that saves him.. the REASONING man can do.. what is right vs what is wrong.. The Hell depicted in countless sunday school lessons and on Tv and dare i say thebible is not one which i envision.. wanna see mortal hell? walk through your city's poor section at 3 am.. while you are home sleeping someone is laying in a cold alley without a coat and drinking cheap booze to stay warm without a bed or a dollar for breakfast.. the philanthropist maybe should spend less time spreading the 'word" and more time buying some food or shelter for indigents.. and they cannot believe in your god or jesus so quickly.. their miracle is not for this or that.. it is for a way out of the hell that they are forced to live with, being trampled by those more fortunate and cast out of our pretensious self centered egotistical sodom like society.. not your fault.. i have been down those mean streets and i guess some of the more well heeled si'rs don't like what i have to say when I blast them for hyping a stock.. anyway.. i guess my lecture here was brought out by the heathen inference.. sorry. taxi
