That's not what I hear. I'm hearing that a lot of the good young talent are leaving AMD as fast as they came in a few years ago. Reasons: low morale, long hours, budget cuts, no raises... They are basically getting outbid by other companies. I know a few new Intel employees who got offered very good salaries, plus stock options. Of course, they tell me the work and hours are very long and demanding, but they're "taken care of".
