Hey Kirk, Doing all that exercise and taking you vices in moderation is a good thing.

I have been going to fitness center for the past three years, at least 4 times a week. I have learned a few things.

Getting your heart rate up is important

Some folks do the bare minimum that is recommended to them by their Dr or trainer.

Some folks push them selves to do more and nore over a given period of time

Some folks are there just to burn off calories (usually younger gals that look fine to me as they are)

Some folks do a number of exercises to increase and maintain joint mobility (knee, elbow, hip)

Some folks come to socialize

I believe that exercise contributes to physical and mental health as we age.

Now if you are intent of living past your due date move to the UP of Michigan or northern Minnesota. The census bureau says folks in these parts have to best longevity. Note... bring your snow shovel.

But no matter what your motivation, time, gravity, and nature eventually take their toll on the human body.

I have a friend that wants to live to be a hundred. To him I say....have you ever been to a nursing home to see what a 100 years does to the human body? By the time you get to be a hundred all your friends will be gone, and waiting for you to show up.
