I don't know any competent Elliottician who only looks at EWP. BTW the decline of 2008-9 was a five wave decline. It was the C wave of a flat. A flat has sub waves of 3-3-5.
I know those two declines of that flat were a time of real confusion for many. lol The five wave C is very clear.
Was it an impulse? Yes, It advanced the trend of which it was a part. The trend of that correction was down.
I also think the conspiracy theory of complete market control through manipulation is just an excuse used by analyst to explain their errors in predicting market action. It is often used to explain a bogus call which fails.
It's like, "I would have been right if it had not been for those rascally BOYZ."
IMO the "Boyz" is a fantasy. If they were real TA would be impossible.

ewave is but one tool .....u cant build a house with just a hammer
Agree 100%, cheif.

I use a simple trend following system, based on the monthly chart. So far, during this correction, didn't have any sell signals.

I trade around the system, using waves, sentiment, TA... but I do it conservatively. Wouldn't advise anyone to bet too much on ANY "count".

The theory is that E-Waves reflect changes in the public mood, in the collective unconscious -- The question is, how much of the retirement savings should one be willing to bet on reads of the public unconscious, even when skillfully interpreted?

It works, but in a probabilistic way. To survive and to succeed, it needs to be combined with other approaches.
