Re: Zip drives used in video games.
Thanks for the links, jackson. The specs on the second article
definitely seem very Zip-like, and I recall some talk of something
like this a while back (over a year ago, anyways...) but never
heard anything further.

Maybe the concept isn't dead, but I am surprised that Iomega
hasn't discussed and/or kept us up to date on this.

The other possibility, of course, is that the drive in question
is not by Iomega.

Oh, one last thought.... I am surprised they are still only 64Mb.
Could it be that they keep it smaller to limit access time?

jackson- wow?! We went down this road last year based on a picture. hmmm...

for those who didn't click the link:

<< By the time Dural is done , it will be able to push 1.5 million triangles per second , have a 640*480 high-res ( oh , N64 does too ! ) , a 12x cd-rom ( oh , 64DD has a 6x ZIP drive and rewitable functions ) , and
possibly a modem ( oh , what do ya now , 64DD does too !! ) <<

What the heck is a 6x Zip drive?

(apologies for the TYPOS in my previous, pre-caffine, post. yes, it's Clik!, not Click! and the name of the magazine is Popular Science, etc... )

Re: Nintendo

It's not 100MB, so it's not a Zip.

Also, there is no 6x Zip, and we would have heard an announcement from Iomega if Nintendo were going to use a Zip.
