That is EXACTLY why you partition your portfolio with some of it in guaranteed fixed income. Part of that is in SS where you get an even better fixed income return by spending down your savings and taking SS later.

Thanks for making my point.

Your whole idea of taking an income stream from a government guaranteed annuity payment that will grow 8% a year you delay.... and buying a risky individual or basket of stocks, is about the worst advice I've heard but I guess someone could have suggested putting it in bitcoin or beanie babies (for an eventual return like Tulips....) which don't pay dividends.
