Dear Jane: Yesterday I was reading where Christ would return on the clouds; the NIV translation is "Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen." "With the clouds", whatever that means I interpret as a triumphant entry. When Christ entered Jerusalem it was a triumphant entry. His followers expected an earthly king on the order of King David, or Solomon. What they got was far from what they expected. When Ezekiel picturered the dead and dry bones clanking back to life in the desert and flesh appearing on the bones, generations later there were still those expecting the occurance to happen exactly as envisioned. We have been fortunate enough to see that vision come to life in our lifetime; but not as like envisioned in the old testament. Did it happen, yes of course, was it miraculously inspired of God, yes of course, are ther streets of Jerusalem alive , yes,did the flowers bloom in the desert, fruit appear on the trees, yes. But did the same bones of the dead come to life and the same people reincarnate with the same names and such, no of course not. I will be perfectly honest with you. Christ said He would come the first time and He did. He said He would return and I believe Him as well. If I am to be taken in the twinkling of an eye, and that means I am standing where an asteriod hits the earth and I don't know what hits me then that is acceptable in my sight. I trust the Lord knows what is best for me , my family, my future, and my dear friends like yourself. Your question on the tribulation. Is the second coming an act of mercy, of judgement, of love. My way of thinking it is an act of judgement for satan and an act of mercy for the one true church or body of Christ. The question of one being taken the other left. Those in the body of Christ will be taken, no two classes of Christians, those looking for the return those not looking. Why does anyone accept salvation in the first place? Look around, realistically, is it because we think no more problems as long as we remain. The first realization has to be that I cannot do this on my own, I need God, how can I get to God; for me I just realized that I needed Jesus in my heart. If for some reason I have to go through with the tribulation and my theory is wrong about my being removed in the rapture, whatever that means, then so be it.Jesus said He would never leave me , that is good enough for me. I biblically speaking, would be more attuned to the leper that kept screaming at the top of his lungs until Jesus stopped and made him whole. Some way some how I'm going to stop Jesus if I have to disrupt some comfort zones in the process..... In Christ.gregor
