There is, I think, a strong element of proof in the very idea that he ran for the office. For him to believe he actually had the requisite experience and knowledge, given his lack of any history of accomplishment, was to me suggestive of some kind of inflated self inventory.

He did this on the strength of a single speech written by a 24 year old kid. That the American people were such idiots as to fall for it was astounding.

To be a politician, you need at least a dollop of narcissism. Otherwise you wouldn't delude yourself that you can actually tackle some of the problems that exist. I suppose before Trump wandered on the scene you might be able to convince yourself that Obama was a full-blown narcissist. But that just isn't possible any more. There are orders of magnitude difference between the two. A whole other universe.

So if Obama is a narcissist, Trump must be something deeply pathological.
