Now maybe it is different this time. Maybe not. But it is foolish the expect that suddenly Kim will fold.

Kim will structure the deal such that he gives up his nukes in 10-15 years when NK has developed a much more modern economy than they have today. He might agree to allowing inspectors to keep tabs on them between now and then, but he won't give them up before (or at all) NK is a very different country than it is now.

Maybe it's been done differently in the past, but I like that Trump got this thing rolling so fast. For one thing, it hardly gave Kim opportunity to reconsider, lol.

Seriously, I love it. Kim gets taken to the perfect host city--Singapore. Fabulously wealthy, beautiful modern architecture, an orderly city filled with sleek, rich Asian peoples. He sees what kind of car a national leader gets to drive, he's given a propaganda video with himself as hero, and he probably woke up yesterday thinking "Holy Moly, what did I just sign?"

Rather brilliant perhaps. Why do you liberals keep clinging to the status quo of everything?

Don't forget the Bush Doctrine which fell apart within days. It basically said the US would go to war with any country it thought had nukes. Within days of the doctrine being announced NK said it would get nukes, which it did. NK had to get nukes to stop the nut republicans voted for (this time and in 2016) so they created a problem with NK so they can pretend to fix it. It's too childish for most adults to waste time on.
