Dinkum environmentalists don't go to drive through fast food joints.

I stop my engine but it's to save my money not the world or environment. Letting gaps get bigger means fewer restarts and more degrees of freedom with less or no braking.

Restarting an engine doesn't use more fuel. These days they fire on the first cylinder. Some cars have engines that turn themselves off when propulsion is not needed.

In my London travels I notice a LOT of electric and hybrid cars. It's a big trend. But they still get special financial favours so it's not a straight economic comparison yet.

Tax on petrol is high in Europe so electric cars get a big subsidy.
