Balanced budget?? Only if you believe in unicorns BTW, We've spent trillions already for the 'needy' and the percentages are about the same as when LBJ changed us to a welfare society. We have the worlds richest 'poor'. Everybody knows that.

Insignificant? But how do you know? As to the stupidity of two endless wars while giving a tax cut - well you get no argument from me. .........But I want to balance the budget, not just offer more money for the poor - so call me cruel. Now, demonstrating that I'm a completely heartless person, I do think we need spend more on mental illness. Lots more! Way, way, way more! Mental illness should be part of the health care system and that should be single pay through the government. ............They tried a head tax in Seattle to help the homeless and actually passing it before business rebelled and politicians backed down. It's complicated.
