LMAO

You know what's not governing? Separating kids from parents, and then losing them.

They came in legally, I assume, went through customs and were screened for disease and poor health.

None of mine did.

<<<< Go to an era when this country was wide open and building itself out at a rapid pace.>>>>

Need to learn our history. In the early 20's after WWI there were quotes and the government was not much different than today in sending people away who didn't fit their ideas of "quality" immigrants.

I have intentionally not included the word legal or illegal prefacing immigrants and have been surprised no one caught that. The issue to me now is how the heck do you ever tell the difference? ........AND THAT is why that the only fix to this problem is to make the employer responsible. We can't have a government of the ICE like vigilantes that go around demanding ID - Gawd! How unAmerican of a road do you want us to go down? One good case before the SC likely will stop that. .............Katelew, they're coming across the border no matter what you do. Just like people got whiskey during Prohibition and drugs today. Anyone who looks at this with clear eye can see that!!! Take the incentive away. Why doesn't Trump do that? Oh ya, he likes the cheap laborers.

That's why I've come to believe that liberals can't govern. They can't make the hard choices. Or if they try, they can't stay in office.

I can't argue with that. But we're not in a perfect world. I have for decades now been fond of gridlock, although less so over time as unsolved problems have built up. So, you are advocating the making of hard choices. The thing about hard choices is that the harder they are, the more it matters that they be good ones. I'd rather no choices, either by gridlock or by liberals, who at the very least are professional about their governing, than bad, rough choices.

How sad that we can't do better.

" I've come to believe that liberals can't govern."
In related "Republicand show us how to govern" news,

The U.S. lost track of 1475 immigrant children last year

That doesn't count what's been happening in the last few weeks. Why not write the WH and suggest tattooing parents and children, in order to keep track of their movements?
