Central America has a simple problem no one wants to discuss and a simple solution, not one wants to consider i.e. they have too much religion and too little education.

Well, yes, we in the US probably have too much religion ourselves.<g>

The best thing we could do and it is the best and only solution,IMO, would be to spend a billion dollars a year on education, including serving people who went to school hot meals every day.

I have agreed with you on this in the past, so I'll just agree with you again.

I'm guessing that we won't because there is no (other) regional hegemon in Central or South America. We are it. We might benefit indirectly if there are fewer immigrants fleeing violence and economic collapse. That would be well within our national interest.
