Brumar doesn't like me and has me on ignore. I posted on his thread and he banned me. He has reason to, as I told him I was a warlock and was cursing him, figuring if he was religious, he might fall for it. He'd be welcome here if he wanted to post, as we totally agree on Trump.

It would add a new flavor to have a right winger here that was also anti-Trump.

Old-style Republicans, like Will, Krauthammer, Rich Lowery, and all the well-known neo-con names are trying to rewrite history and lay down a deceitful meme. They're pushing the idea that Trump is destroying the GOP. They won't admit that it was them who destroyed the GOP. ... I believe the GOP was as good as dead and demographics were going to finish it off by the end of the Hillary presidency.

Interesting use of the word, destroy. I disagree that it's a deceitful meme. The GOP was, indeed, the party of the, as you phrased it, old-style Republicans. It was conservative as in William F Buckley. That party is gone. Since they owned it until they didn't, since they lost it when it was co-opted, taken over, I don't see how one could argue that it had not been "destroyed." That the new GOP may be better, stronger, have greater longevity than the old one does not mean that the old one wasn't destroyed and replace by something else.

No one likes to have their world fall away from them. It's crushing, disorienting, angering, saddening. That happened to white people and to Christians over the last decades, and recently to cosmopolitans and the GOP elite. I don't see how it could be considered invalid let alone deceitful to perceive that as destruction of the former by the newcomers.

Take care of American workers before anything else. The rest will fall into place.

It could hardly be more different from what it destroyed.

Brumar was a never-Trumper from the very beginning.

Indeed. When he slandered POW's to attack McCain it was the first signal. I discovered his slavish praise of Vladimir Putin and defense of him over the polonium poisoning of Litvinenko, the downing of the Malaysian airliner, and the invasion of Crimea and Ukraine. So from the beginning, he displayed a lack of honor and decency and talked as if he were compromised by Putin.

I think there are others, but they don't seem to want to post on Brumar's thread. So Brumar's over there talking to himself. He should be on this thread, it would seem.

That people (69 apparently) read the thread and repost material elsewhere is enough for me. I request leftwingers not turn my thread into a leftwing party and have asked some of those folks not to post there much and even banned one or two. Non-lefties who are appalled by Trump are actively harassed so they've largely retreated from SI.

Also, I think he was totally behind the Iraq war and stuck with Bush through it all. One characteristic of Trump voters is that they are either people who never bought into the war in the first place, or they supported it but now want to get it in the rear view mirror as fast as possible.

Wrong about Trumpers. 99% of them on SI were as supportive as I was. They just 'changed their mind' when Trump attacked W as the 'worst President in history.' They're in a personality cult and they don't differ with their thought leader. They change their thoughts or shut up about them.

Who cares who destroyed it. It's the Trumpublican party and not a home for conservatives anymore afai am concerned.

No one else could have defeated Hillary

Wrong. That Trump squeaked out a win he didn't even think would happen on election night, shows how weak a candidate Hillary was. EVERY other candidate could've beat her. And the people who run the Republican party planned on Hillary winning. A weak Democratic President they could rally against but would keep them from being responsible for anything was why Trump.
