A question on the transaction log....were the 15,000 shares that were traded at 10:29 a buy or sell? Prior to the trade, the bid was 6 and the ask was 6.062. The 15,000 trade was for 6.11. Following that trade, the bid was dropped to 5.937 and the ask remained at 6.062. The next two trades were at 6, followed by the bid = 5.937 and the ask reduced to 6.

Can this be interpreted as someone placing a sell order for the 15,000 shares at a price higher than the bid maybe to insure the whole order was executed? If this was a buy, why would someone buy that large a block higher than the ask? Is this just an MM technique?

Thanks for your replies.

Judith
