Roger,

Check this story out on YHOO and look at the time it was posted! Do you think they do not want anyone to know what is going on? Looks very good to me for my short position, what do you think?

Roger, please tell me I'm doing the right thing by holding onto my YHOO short. I'm getting singed big time right now. You know with the upside surprise it will only go up more in the short run. The only solace I have is the astronomical PE. What do you think of all the AOL comparisons being tossed around. The last thing I need is for this thing to triple in market cap.

Thanks Mongo.

<< Yahoo????? earned 5 cents. That is a PE of 350 or so. It should go down from here, not up! >>

Not sure how you arrived at the PE of 350. ..67 (current share price) divided by 0.05 = PE of 1340, but that is only for 1 quarter. I show earnings of 0.11 for 1997. That equals a PE of 609.

1997.......Revenues.........EPS

Q1............9.5 m............01 cent
Q2..........13.5 m............02 cents
Q3..........17.3 m............03 cents
Q4..........25.1 m............05 cents

Total.......65.4 m...........11 cents

$67 (current YHOO price) divided by 0.11 cents = PE of 609 (TTM)

Of course more than half of those "earnings" are interest from cash and investments, not from operations. Price to sales sits somewhere around 54-55. Not to mention YHOO is going to have to start paying taxes soon. They had the benefit of tax-loss carry forwards in the past. That should make earnings gains even more difficult.

Roger,

YHOO looks very weak here, I agree. Within 4-8 weeks it should drop to
it's 200 DMA. I am short at 64+ and plan to be patient.
